Nutri-Life Stubble-Tech
Trillions of stubble digesters designed to convert stubborn, fibrous plant material into precious organic carbon/humus.

Nutri-Life Stubble-Tech™ is a concentrated blend of different species of cellulose digesting fungi selected from hardy, drought resistance Australian fungi. Stubble-Tech™ comprises a twin-pack that includes Nutri-Tech Fungi-Food™. As the inoculum can only be brewed in conjunction with this specialist food, this food is designed to favour the multiplication of these species of fungi over bacteria (Note: bacteria usually dominate during brewing). The Stubble-Tech™ blend includes Trichoderma, which has a dual function - they are cellulose digesters and bio-balancers.

Benefits

  • Represents a valuable opportunity to rapidly convert crop residues into organic carbon/humus. Often stubble, and the root matter below the ground, is the only organic matter that is returned to the soil and it becomes essential to maximise the organic carbon conversion rate.
  • Dry, fibrous stubble can be rapidly decomposed within two to four weeks.
  • Inedible fibrous material can be converted to an edible stock feed within one week.
  • In prolonged dry periods this product with still perform at 40 to 50% efficiency.
  • Stubble-Tech™ is possibly the first fungi-based inoculum that can be successfully multiplied in liquid (normally fungi require a solid substrate in which to breed).
  • Australian designed.
  • Both the Stubble-Tech and the Fungi Food have been autoclaved to avoid bacterial contamination. Note: Bacteria will always outperform fungi if they are introduced into a brewing medium in any significant number.
Packaging
1 litre twin pack (1 litre of Stubble-Tech and 1 litre of food),4 litre twin pack (4 litre of Stubble-Tech and 4 litre of food).

Typical Analysis

Species include Chaetomium, Trichoderma and yeast.

Application Rates

Spray:

  • Apply 10 litres of brewed product per hectare (usually combined with 50-100 litres of water).
  • The product should be boom-sprayed over the stubble rather than irrigated.
  • Do not exceed spray pressures of 60psi to avoid damage to microbes.
  • Product should be sprayed immediately after brewing - don't leave standing overnight.
  • Evening or late afternoon is the best application time to avoid microbes drying out in the hot sun.
  • Soil moisture is very important despite a capacity to perform in dry conditions.
Luxury Stubble Digestion Program:

Per hectare apply:

  • 10 litres of Stubble-Tech brewed concentrate
  • 10 litre of molasses
  • 20 to 40Kg of urea
  • 1Kg of soluble humate granules
Brewing Instructions:
Add 1 litre of Nutri-Life Stubble-Tech™ and 1 litre of Nutri-Tech Fungi Food to 200 litres of clean water and aerate at 28oC for 48 hours. Fungal hyphae may block nozzles and/or filters. Big jets and high water rates are ideal. Clean water and equipment is imperative for success of the brew. Stubble-Tech can create a mass of filamentous fungal strands. Don't exceed 48 hours or you may have to shovel the dense hyphae from your brewing tank. 24 hours brewing time is acceptable if necessary.

Storage & Handling
Contains live organisms. Do not mix with fungicides. Store in cool, dry place away from sunlight. Shelf-life – 1 year from manufacture date (unopened). May be stored in a refrigerator after opening for up to 3 months. However, contamination may occur once opened. Gloves and breathing mask should be worn at all times when handling microbial products.

Miscellaneous

  • Product has a very limited shelf-life. Due to this fact, NTS does not stock this product as a standard item. It is produced and shipped on a per-order basis. Please allow for up to 2 weeks lead time to receive goods.
  • Dry conditions - as a rule of thumb, if there is enough moisture to sustain any plant growth then these species will continue to survive. Ideally this inoculum should be combined with humic acid, molasses and urea. Humic acid and urea stimulate the Stubble-Tech™ species and the remaining stubble digesting microbes already existing in the soil. Urea is often needed to address the carbon:nitrogen ratio relevant when decomposing fibrous material. Urea can often determine the success or failure of the program.
  • The cellulose digesting fungi in Stubble-Tech™ will obviously perform best in moist conditions and for this reason the stubble should ideally be disced into the soil. However, the fungi will still offer benefit if applied to crop residue in a no-till situation
  • Spray or fertigation tanks must be chemical free. To clean equipment, make a 1% urea solutions (1Kg/100Litres of water). Fill tank and spray hoses and let sit overnight. Then empty and rinse.
  • Contains live organisms - do not apply in conjunction with toxic chemicals.
  • For dry, fibrous materials, Stubble-Tech™ will tend to perform better than Accelerate™.
  • All living microbes should be added to a liquid mix last, ie. after all other products are diluted.
  • It is very important to realise that high pressure rates with spray equipment can damage or destroy beneficial microorganisms. Try no to exceed pressures of 60 psi.
